The guy with the messy hair.

I saw this guy on the tea stall while I was having tea with couple of my other friends. 12 13 years of age. Lean. Old cloths. Messy hair. Face with lil dirt on it. Still confident. Smiling. Ofcourse hungry. “Bhaiya samosa dena” – said the guy. “Kitne?” This was another guy on the other side of the huge stove on which there was a “kadhai” with boiling dalda oil in it where the samosas were taking plunge into.
The guy with the messy hair pulls out a crumbled 10 rupees note, unfolds it, hands it over to the guy on the other side. “jitne ajayen de do”. The guy on the other side pulls this stainless steel plate, puts one samosa on it, pours some green chutney, hands it over to the guy with the messy hair. He starts to eat it with quite ease and comfort. Calm. No hurry. Nothing. Finishes it off. Washes the hands. Drinks full 2 glass off water. Moves out of place singing some bollywood song with a feel of pride and fulfilment on his face.

I kept gazing that guy until he was out my sight. This scene made me go into deep thinking. This is what is “happiness” we all are craving for, i believe. Calmness. No hurry. Feel of pride. Feel of Freedom. Satisfaction – Happiness expressed with a random Bollywood song.

Right at that moment – while I was still looking like an idiot, smiling for no reason, and an image was blurring out at some distance as the guy with the messy hair moved slowly out of my sight – honk! honk! a busy man pressed his car’s horn hastily which brought me back to reality from my day dreaming and sadness took over.

Ab aa jao . . .

Chalo ho gaya bahut waqt gaye hue, ab ajao.

Chalo ho gaya bahut waqt gaye hue, ab ajao.

Har bar uthata hm kalam kuch likhne ko, poora nahi hota

Fadta hm panne kai, fek deta hm marod k dustbin me,

To kabhi nochta hm bal mai apne sar ka,

Kabhi to ginta bhi hm yun hi taare mai din me,

To kabhi khayal rahta nahi waqt o umar ka,

Chalo ho gaya bahut waqt gaye hue, ab ajao.

Chalo ho gaya bahut waqt gaye hue, ab ajao.

Umar bhar k liye nahi, do pal k liye hi sahi,
Girte sambhalte yu hi, sath nibhane to aao

Haule haule dheemi awaz me naam mera budbudane tak aao

Kaun si hai ye film, shayad “lambi judai”, ajao
Chalo ho gaya bahut waqt gaye hue, ab ajao.

Kids with the “Tiranga

20170813_230454

So, it’s the beautiful twilight hour, my office cab along with the other vehicles is moving slowly through the traffic jams. The radio is playing wonderful patriotic songs, and as I look out of my car window, I observe some kids with the “TIRANGA”

The weather is quite moist and warm outside but the shimmering rays of the sun diminishing in the horizon makes you dive into several thoughts. Those golden rays also fall upon the little kids who are holding thousands of balloons and many tricolors in their tiny hands in order to earn some food for themselves.

This panoramic view of “the kids with the tiranga” under golden rays of sun, took me back in time. To be honest, I have never seen Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev or Rajguru fighting for the country with my own eyes. However, I have an image that runs through my mind on how everything must have been at the point of time when we were not supposed to do anything of our own choice in our own country and how these great leaders and many others fought for almost 90 years to get us freedom. These kids now resemble to that image of younger Bhagat Singh Sukhdev and Rajguru running with the tricolor on their small shoulders. These kids represent the underprivileged but when I see them through those golden lights, I find that even though these kids do not have enough food to feed themselves, no roof for shelter, no education, no entertainment, still they have a Bhagat singh, a Sukhdev or may be a Rajguru inside them. All we need to do is make them realise that yes they are today’s fighters who needs to fight against their poverty, fight for their rights, fight for their education and become a legendary citizen of this country for which many “Bhagat Singhs” have already sacrificed their lives.

While I was still swimming in my philosophical pool, a shrill sound of car break brought me back and I find myself smiling like an idiot again.

Finally, getting out of my philosophical pool I step forward in life and stand with these lil Bhagat Singhs of today. Do you?

Hum Kyu Hain…?

WhatsApp Image 2017-06-23 at 11.45.16 PM

” Hum kyu hain yahan, ja rahe hain kahan nahi hai khabar na kisi ko pata.
jo hona tha wo nahi ho raha,
jo ho raha hai wo kyu ho raha.
sochte yahi, kitne huye la pata
nahi hai khabar na kisi ko pata.

Hum kyu hain yahan, ja rahe hain kahan nahi hai khabar na kisi ko pata.

Is choti si duniye me pange bahut,
kahin hain bimariyan kahin dange bahut,
kahin kisi romeo ki ho gayi pitayi,
kahin koi juliot kar rahi hai ladai.
kahin koi bachcha, bhookha ro raha,
Kahin koi boodha, yun hi so raha.

jo hona tha wo nahi ho raha,
jo ho raha hai wo kyu ho raha.
sochte yahi, kitne huye la pata
nahi hai khabar na kisi ko pata.
Hum kyu hain yahan, ja rahe hain kahan nahi hai khabar na kisi ko pata.

Koi khush hai chand sikke kama k,
Koi ro raha hai apno ko ganvan k
koi kuch pane ki umeed me laga hai,
koi yun hi maidan chor bhaga hai

Hain kuch log ziddi abhi bhi,
jo badalne is duniya ki khatir, lage hain,
unme se soye hain sare, par kuch to jage hain.
kahin naujawan koi so raha,
kahin kisi mil me, bachpan kho raha.

jo hona tha wo nahi ho raha,
jo ho raha hai wo kyu ho raha.
sochte yahi, kitne huye la pata
nahi hai khabar na kisi ko pata.
Hum kyu hain yahan, ja rahe hain kahan nahi hai khabar na kisi ko pata.

Dekha……!

Dekha……!

————————————

Han Dekha! Dekha maine Dekha!
Yahan bhi dekha, wahan bhi dekha,
Sara ye jahan bhi dekha,
Kahin apno ki berukhi,
Kabhi gairon ka sath dekha.

Kisi ka aan-baan dekha,
Kisi ka shan-o-samman dekha,
Kabhi dabdabayi ankhe, aur
chehrey pe muskan dekha.

Kabhi badaltey saaz dekha,
Kisi ka takht-o-taaz dekha.
Chamchamati ankho ke pichey,
Dard bhara wo raaz dekha.

Kisi ke khokhaley waadey,
Kisi ka bholapan dekha,
Kisi ki mast nigaheyn,
Kisi ka alharpan dekha.

Kisi ki dharkan kisi ka saans dekha,
Kisi ka aas aur vishwas dekha,
Kisi ki jhuki ankho me,
Wo pyaar bhara ehsaas dekha.

Kahin os ki thandi boondey,
Kahin ghaas naram dekha,
Kahin aapno pe sitam,
Kahin gairon pe karam dekha.

Kahin bikhari tanhai dekhi,
Kahin bant rahi ruswai dekhi,
Kahin lut rahi angdayi,
Kahin wafa saason me samayi dekhi.

Kahin ankho me chamak dekha
Kahin dil me kasak dekha
Kahin thahri hui se zindagi to
Kahin thokaron se sabak dekha.

Kabhi bhagta shahar dekha,
Kabhi machakti lahar dekha,
Kahin jami mehfil to
kabhi tanha safar dekha.

Kabhi jalti chita dekhi,
Kahin bujhta saman dekha,
Kabhi thahri zamin to
Kahin pighalta asmaan dekha.

Kahin dil mayus dekha,
Kahin lab khamosh dekha,
Kabhi dekhi sard hawa to
Kabhi fiza madhosh dekha.

Kabhi badalta waqt dekha,
Kisi ki kisnat jabardast dekha,
Kahin bikhar ke udatey panne to
Kabhi dard-a-darakht dekha.

Kabhi kisii ki vidayi dekhi,
Kahin ho rahi judayi dekhi,
Dil-a-kaidi bahut hain yahan, par
Is kaid ki na kabhi rihaai dekhi.

Kabhi dil ye khayali dekha,
Kabhi harf ye sawali dekha,
Kabhi kapkapatey hoth to
Kahin mahfiley bhi khali dekha.

Yahan bhi dekha, wahan bhi dekha,
Sara ye jahan bhi dekha,
Han Dekha! Dekha maine Dekha!
Yahan bhi dekha, wahan bhi dekha,
Sara ye jahan bhi dekha,
